What You’ll Learn
Reading Psyche and Physiology as One
the core interpretive skill: learning to see psychological patterns and biological processes as two registers of a single movement, and to work fluently across both.
The Development of the Practitioner
the formation of the clinician's own perception, judgment, and self-knowledge as the primary instrument of the work.
Recognizing Depletion and Restoring Coherence
learning to read burnout, dysregulation, and loss of form as legible states, and to understand what genuine restoration requires.
From Mechanism to Meaning
holding physiological rigor and psychological depth together, so that evidence and interpretation inform rather than compete with each other.
Meet Your Teacher
Niecia Nelson
founder + principal teacherNiecia Nelson is an educator, writer, and practitioner whose work concerns the relationship between physiology and psyche — not as separate domains, but as two registers of a single living system oriented toward coherence and wholeness.
Her understanding rests on more than two decades of an unusually wide scholarship across the disciplines that each hold some part of that relationship: counselling psychology, family systems, functional medicine, bioenergetics, mineral science and functional nutrition. These were not pursued as just parallel credentials but as facets of a single question, and over time they resolved into one orientation — a way of seeing in which the biological and the psychological cease to be competing accounts of a person and become instead two expressions of the same movement.
Psychobiology is the framework that emerged from that inquiry: an orientation that regards physiology and psyche as allied aspects of a single living system, and asks the practitioner to move past symptom management, past the limits of any one discipline, toward the deeper foundations from which synthesis and healing arise. It did not come from adopting a method, but from following a single question until nothing she had trained in could hold both halves of the answer at once — and building what could.
